Troubleshooting – Printer Problems & Solutions

1. Print Quality Issues

1.1 Colors Are Too Light or Not Vivid

Possible Causes:

  • Ink is dry, or an incorrect ink type is used
  • Air inside the ink tubes
  • The machine temperature is too high due to long working hours
  • Printhead nozzles are partially clogged 

Solutions:

  • Check and use the correct ink
  • Remove air from the ink tubes
  • Pause the machine and allow it to cool down
  • Perform proper printhead cleaning(from Micolorprint.com)

1.2 Printed Image Becomes Blurry

Possible Cause:

  • The printhead guide rail is not parallel to the roller

Solution:

  • Adjust the printhead guide rail to ensure it is parallel to the roller
  • Test print after adjustment until the image becomes clear(from Micolorprint.com)

2. Printer Does Not Print or Has No Response

2.1 Screen Displays “OFF.”

Possible Causes:

  • USB cable is not connected properly
  • The printing software is not running
  • USB driver is not installed or damaged

Solutions:

  • Ensure the printer is correctly connected to the computer
  • Open the printing software (such as PrintEXP)
  • Reinstall the USB driver if necessary (from Micolorprint.com)

3. Printing Stops or Error Messages Appear

3.1 Error Messages or Software Crashes

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  • Encoder connection issue: Check and secure the encoder cable
  • Image size too large: Reduce the image size in design software
  • Incorrect print direction: Adjust direction settings in the print software
  • Corrupted software: Reinstall the printing software and add it to the antivirus whitelist

4. Maintenance Tips

  • Clean printheads, wiper, and encoder strip regularly
  • Keep printer software and firmware updated
  • Maintain recommended temperature and humidity levels
  • Check ink levels frequently to avoid ink interruption
